I'm so grateful to Dr. Arambage for his care, expertise and professionalism following my recent hysterectomy. During an initial consultation in 2019, I saw another consultant gynaecologist who informed me about the different options to treat / resolve the symptoms caused by very large fibroids. I chose to have a hysterectomy but wanted to have it done laparoscopically, if possible. My case was referred to Dr. Arambage given his expertise in laparoscopic surgery. Due to Covid, I didn't actually meet Dr. Arambage in person prior to the day of my surgery however when we did meet on the morning of the operation, we discussed what I wanted, he answered any outstanding questions I had and explained in detail how he would perform the operation. The operation was quite involved due to the size and placement of the fibroids and surgery took 5 hours (which was much longer than expected). Dr. Arambage performed the operation laparoscopically with a small bikini cut which is exactly what I had expected. He called my family after the operation to reassure them that the operation had gone well and the following day he talked me through the details and showed me some photos from the operation. Dr. Arambage is a very kind and considerate doctor who takes the time to listen to his patients and put them at ease. He is clearly an expert in his field and is very highly regarded by other members of staff at the hospital. I feel extremely lucky that he was surgeon and want to thank him and his team for their excellent care.

Mr Arambage was quite simply probably the best doctor I have ever seen. I went to see him in a state of emotional distress, during a time of global distress, in very strange circumstances and he installed a moment of calm into me. He was the first doctor that i have seen to find a remedy or relief from my PMDD that actually told me NOT TO DO ANYTHING! Every other specialist i have seen has advised I change something or try something new but not Mr Arambage. He was empathic, he listened, he normalised, and he quite simply said his advise was to do nothing for the time being. I loved that he owned his advise too. What a wonderful Doctor. I would recommend him in a second and would like to transfer all my care to him for my PMDD despite having seen one of the best specialists in the country. Thank you so so much.

Having been lucky enough never to have had to be treated in hospital I was an incredibly nervous patient. Mr Arambage was patient and kind and went above and beyond the call of duty to reassure me. Calling to discuss the procedure and getting his anaesthetist Dr D’souza to call me to explain the process for general anaesthesia. He couldn’t have been kinder on the day and explained everything fully. Even though I was very nervous I always felt like I was in very capable hands.

Mr Arambage took the time to listen to all my concerns. He asked a lot of questions about my symptoms and the way I had been misdiagnosed over the years. He knew exactly how to proceed with treating my stage 4 endometriosis and immediately organised for scans and an operation to remove it. He was kind, patient and extremely efficient. After the operation he explained everything he had done and showed me pictures which really helped me to understand it all. I can’t thank him enough for his care and would highly recommend him to other endometriosis sufferers!!

Mr Arambage is the epitome of an excellent doctor. He is kind, caring and extremely skilful. He treated my daughter for Stage IV endometriosis using excision surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital. This was emergency surgery during the Covid 19 crisis. From the minute he met her, he adopted a holistic approach, caring for her physical and mental welfare, and he has followed up regularly since the surgery. He always listens to what she has to say. All in all, everything a consultant should be and we would recommend him wholeheartedly.
